THREE BRIDGES PUMPKIN REVERSE CALABASH SMOKING PIPE

This is our second smoking pipe in the category of Reverse Calabash with three bridges by the Russian master Peter Kotlyar. The Artisan simply creates the wonderful Pumpkin pipe with Reverse Calabash System integration. The first thing which catch the attraction for this nice pipe is the briar grain. He carefully chose a very high grade root with the dazzling lines, and tight texture of wood.

This work can consider as one of the very interesting sample of Reverse Calabash sample with Pumpkin shape by this russian artisan is. The way of finish, color of the grain, mouthpiece selection and extension of  white walrus tusk makes is not only a pure art but also an antique item. Interestingly, the texture of the extension express the nice harmony with the mouthpiece  color and the finish of the briar. Kotlyar not only did not limit himself on this points, but also brilliantly designs three separate bridges at the Feet of the pipe. The last bridge of the pipe is the place for the small tamper (briar-walrus tusk) which is actually the link between the both Cambers. The pipe will work through this intersting system. When the small tamper inserts into the third bridge, it will block the hole and connects the Chambers together.

The artisan Designes the advanced version of Calabash System and mixed it with the shape of pumpkin. The result exhibit the new structure and shape for a Calabash. One thing which is beautiful chosen in this Calabash is the grain of the pipe with dazzling lines Finish. While you can see the tight lines of briar in Front, Shank, Heel and Bowl, you can be also attracted by the Exotic Redish Finish of the briar. With no doubt this is one of the best example of the Inverse Calabash-Pumpkin Integtation System.

About the Artist

Peter Kotlyar was born (1973) and raised in Vladivostok city, Russia. The passion of carving the pipe was in his soul and soon he was completely fascinated by the variety of the shapes and systems. When he bough his first pipe and smoke it he was just thinking he could carve a pipe for himself and by his hands. The fist work was not perfect but very promising for him. Soon he carves more and more until the time that he became a master. He mostly learned from his mistakes and now his pipe are placed all around the world. " I am making pipes for my soul and not for the commerce" he said. He is carving his pipes with the briar from Spain and Sardinia, for the mouthpieces he uses the German ebonite and cumberland. He mostly inserts some antique materials in his smoking pipes and in this case he has his own unique way and technique to express his feeling during carving.
