ASYMMETRIC CAVALIER-CALABASH SMOOTH SMOKING PIPE
When the Calabash style transforms into a Cavalier form the result will be this brilliant pipe as a "symmetric Calabash Cavalier". As usual Master Kotlyar brings another interesting pipe in the forefront. From the top of the mouthpiece to the bottom of the Olive wood, this item expresses almost unbelievable structure. From the carful use of Amaranth insertion and extension to the incredible symmetric design and shape, you are really seeing one of the best product of this artisan in the form of Cavalier. This kind of symmetric carving with almost bending of 90 degree angle together with the self-standing design need alot of attention which Kotlyar performed for this creation.
Peter Kotlyar was born (1973) and raised in Vladivostok city, Russia. The passion of carving the pipe was in his soul and soon he was completely fascinated by the variety of the shapes and systems. When he bough his first pipe and smoke it he was just thinking he could carve a pipe for himself and by his hands. The fist work was not perfect but very promising for him. Soon he carves more and more until the time that he became a master. He mostly learned from his mistakes and now his pipe are placed all around the world. " I am making pipes for my soul and not for the commerce" he said. He is carving his pipes with the briar from Spain and Sardinia, for the mouthpieces he uses the German ebonite and cumberland. He mostly inserts some antique materials in his smoking pipes and in this case he has his own unique way and technique to express his feeling during carving.
