SMOOTH-RUSTICATED CALABASH SMOKING PIPE KIT

This charming smoking pipe kit is a right example of the current ability of the Italian pipe maker Cascia to design, form, carve and finish the pipe. Harmony in shapes, and colors in the pipe, tamper, and pipe stand is obvious all over this kit. The general shape of the kit exhibits the plenty of arch and circular shapes and forms; form the shape of the Calabash pipe, full bend shank, to the disc shapes of the tampers, half sphere design of the stand and even the circular stand points on the stand. All elements are exactly in the right positions and this results in the perfect balance in the whole structure.

Unique features such as combination of the Smooth and Rusticated finish, bright and dark colors of pipe and stand, briar and Olive Wood integration, all and all make this kit more interesting. We do suggest you to take a carful look to this item again in order to understand how much effort and energy Cascia put to design this beauty.

About the Artist

Marco Cascia was born in Italy. His passion for the smoking pipes was founded about 27 yeas ago at Florida and with the age of 9. Later on he carved his first pipe (for his personal use) with Bamboo. Finally his great interest and passion for smoking pipe bring him into the way of briar carving. Since that time he was tried to invent and carve different style of pipes. During his life he has always continued to design and invent new shapes and types of smoking pipes.

He is always looking for new techniques to get even better results. He carves different shapes of pipes; each pipe however has its own unique character, which makes it different from the others. His smoking pipe production is low and around 50 pipes per year because he mostly put his great attention on what he carves. His pipes are charming, masterfully carved and perfectly balanced. In the case of material he is using the old Italian briar root, Olive wood, ebonite and sometimes cumberland for the mouthpiece.
