SMOOTH HALF-BENT EGG SMOKING PIPE KIT

Dynamic shape of the pipe, straight lines of briar, harmony between color and shape, absolute attention to the detail and wisely use of negative space are some example of this brilliant smoking pipe by the Russian master Kotlyar. The smoking pipe is masterfully designed, formed and finished. Extension of the Olive Wood on the Shank echoes the shape and makes a nice contrast with dark color of the pipe. There is a small pyramid on the Foot of the pipe which makes is more interesting. This pyramid is not for decoration purpose, but it is actually the standpoint of the pipe when it place on the stand.

Pipe stand is made of Bog Oak and exhibits the complex and three-dimensional structure. It composed of three separate pieces of Bog Oak, which are linked by three cylinder together. The stand has a two separate stand points for pipe and its tamper. Tamper by itself is made of briar, Olive Wood, and ebonite (all elements which exist in the pipe). The whole combination brings an absolutely stunning smoking pipe kit in forefront.

About the Artist

Peter Kotlyar was born (1973) and raised in Vladivostok city, Russia. The passion of carving the pipe was in his soul and soon he was completely fascinated by the variety of the shapes and systems. When he bough his first pipe and smoke it he was just thinking he could carve a pipe for himself and by his hands. The fist work was not perfect but very promising for him. Soon he carves more and more until the time that he became a master. He mostly learned from his mistakes and now his pipe are placed all around the world. " I am making pipes for my soul and not for the commerce" he said. He is carving his pipes with the briar from Spain and Sardinia, for the mouthpieces he uses the German ebonite and cumberland. He mostly inserts some antique materials in his smoking pipes and in this case he has his own unique way and technique to express his feeling during carving.
