SMOOTH SCULPTURAL REVERSE CALABASH SMOKING PIPE KIT

This creation is absolute work of art by great Russian artisan Kotlyar. Many pipe makers produce Reverse Calabash in the format of three-dimensional forms, but this work of art is completely a different approach. This is all about art. Truly fascinating pipe kit with absolute attention to details, dimension, finish, and balance. The strong sculptural concept together with unbelievable carving power of the artisan makes this smoking pipe kit very unique. This brilliant piece of art exhibits the shape of two water drops liked together. The pipe can perfectly place on the pipe stand through the junction of these two drops.

The artisan nicely designed the structure of the tamper and pipe stand fitting with the general shape of calabash pipe. With no doubt this work could considered as one of his best set in the sculptural from of reverse calabash carving. Perfect grain, amazing finish and beautiful bright natural color, synchronized water drops shape, dazzling line of the briar, harmony between pipe and its stand and tamper are some other factors which clearly can clearly be observed by the first glance in this stunning pipe kit.

About the Artist

Peter Kotlyar was born (1973) and raised in Vladivostok city, Russia. The passion of carving the pipe was in his soul and soon he was completely fascinated by the variety of the shapes and systems. When he bough his first pipe and smoke it he was just thinking he could carve a pipe for himself and by his hands. The fist work was not perfect but very promising for him. Soon he carves more and more until the time that he became a master. He mostly learned from his mistakes and now his pipe are placed all around the world. " I am making pipes for my soul and not for the commerce" he said. He is carving his pipes with the briar from Spain and Sardinia, for the mouthpieces he uses the German ebonite and cumberland. He mostly inserts some antique materials in his smoking pipes and in this case he has his own unique way and technique to express his feeling during carving.
