About the Item

SMOOTH-FINE SANDBLASTED FACET HORN SMOKING PIPE

You are seeing a charming Smooth-Sandblast Facet Horn pipe by the Danish pipe maker Jon Vesterholm. At first glance, this creation amazes the eyes by the perfect harmony of color, shape and design. The color, pattern and structure of Horn were carefully selected to emphasize the brilliant composition. This wonderful pipe is a right example of harmony and perfect shaping. All elements are beautifully proportioned in relation to the next to present this stunning work of art. Another interesting point is the why how the artisan performed the Sandblast technique. Fine and intensive work of Sandblasting is obvious all around the pipe. This Horn pipe comes with its own pouch.

About the Artist

Jon Vesterholm is a young Danish pipemaker and he lives in a small town in the country side surrounded by the beautiful landscape. He currently works as a teacher at a production school in the carpentry workshop. He started making pipes professionally at 2011. It was in his opinion quite good. He had to use his wood lathe, drill press, too many hours and lots of patience. He has made many more since then and is very conscious of technique, detail, form, color, and vein drawings. Now, his production is around 100 pipes per year. He makes both Freehand and classic shapes.

"I've learned from some of the best Danish contemporary pipe makers, Jess Chonowitsch and former, which I visit regularly to get some feedback on the things I do, and I always come home with new techniques that to try. I like the expression and artistic ways the freehand takes me but also the classic sharp cuts who demands the proportion to be very precise" he said.
