SMOOTH AMMONITE SMOKING PIPE SET WITH TAMPER AND CUSTOMIZED BOX
Here is another nice creation by Bartlomiej Antoniewski. This pipe was desgined, carved and finished by this artisan in the perfect way. The concept and the idea of the pipe comes from the shape of the Ammonite. The name "Ammonite", from which the scientific term is derived, was inspired by the spiral shape of their fossilized shells, which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams' horns. Ammonites are excellent index fossils, and it is often possible to link the rock layer in which a particular species or genus is found to specific geological time periods. Their fossil shells usually take the form of planispirals, although there were some helically spiraled and nonspiraled forms. With this great back ground he carves such a beautiy with exact attention to the shape as well as harmony.
This Ammonite creation exhibit the sense of art and nature combination froms, The dramatic sweep of arcing (31 Ornamentazione for both sides). In each separate Ornamentazione of this item there are a lot of fine and in-detailed attentions which bring the Ammonite pipe to one of the high grade pipes by this artian. Antoniewski not only focus in the Ornamentazione alone, but also the general shape of the pipe are perfectly reflect the Ammonite.
The artisan used the nice black cumberland Mouthpiece in this nice pipe. Interestingly, the tamper is also a kind of fascinating work. Tamper has 25 Ornamentazione in the Head with Dot Engraving on both sides. Amazing sculptural carving, Complexity in both bipe and tamper are soem of the characteristics for this unique set. Here, Antoniewski use his strong ability to express his strong feelng about the Nature. This Ammonite kit comes together with wonderful tamper and beautiful customized box.
About the Artist
Bartlomiej Antoniewski was born on 17 May 1961 in Przemysl; the capital of polish pipe. The choice of his career was determined by his fascination with briar; its beauty and the variety of grain and sculptural opportunities it offers for carving pipes. He has been making briar pipes, accessories and miniature briarwood sculpture since 1987. From 1985 to 1986 he worked under Ryszard Filar a well-known and highly regarded master craftsman, creating new models of carved pipes. In this way he contribute to continuing nearly a hundred year-long tradition of pipe craftsmanship in the town of Przmysl.
Besides classic shapes, the pipes he created include those decorated with animal and floral motifs as well as abstract and geometrical forms and motifs to do with hunting. His pipes are made from high quality mediterranean briar, while mouthpieces are made from acrylic, cumberland and ebonite. Since 2008 he made a revelotion in the carving of sculptural pipes. Brilliant concepts and strong three dimentional ability bring his pipes in the category of the best. He even made soem custoized box for some of his pipe together with fitting tamper. This shows the intense interest of the artisan to create and to ejoy with brair.
